Advantage of Floating Hide Photography
Floating hide has many advantages over conventional stationary hide which we use for land animals and birds.
The main advantage is its movability. The hide can be moved and positioned according to the need and opportunities. The distance between the lens and the subject can also be altered and the hid can be moved according to the composition.
Another great advantage is that we can slowly follow the subject. Following the subject gives great opportunities for capturing the subject in its variety of situations and compositions.
With floating hide you can place the camera and lens very close to the water level so that the prespective is very intresting and background is very far and is nicely blurred and milky.
However, the photo session is demanding and can be tiring (especially in shallow water) as the interior of the hide is not spacious and besides we have to move with it. We walk on the bottom and push the platform, where the photo camera and lens is attached. 80-100 cm is the optimum water depth but you can manage even with 20 cm.
